This journey starts in the Cotopaxi Volcano parking lot with an incredible descent through the sandy roads which head towards the northwestern region of the volcano with a beautiful view of the Limpios Pampa and its surrounding volcanoes where the majestic Andean condor lives. After we will continue to the Santa Rita Hacienda situated in the fabulous remaining Andean forest until we get to the Pita River.

This is an exciting route that offers you the opportunity of a close-up experience and to admire the beauty of the Cayambe Volcano (5.790 m / 18.996 ft) located inside of the Cayambe-Coca Reserve. We will travel to the Oleas Berge Refuge at 4.600 m / 15.091 ft, from where we will be able to observe the Hermoso Glacier and will begin a new adventure, descending 1.500 m / 4.921 ft through incredible Andean landscapes.

Without a doubt, this is one of the most beautiful routes inside of the central Sierra region of Ecuador. Departing from the heart of the Ecuadorian Andes at 4.800 m / 15.748 ft, we will begin a 2.000 m / 6.561 ft descent, leaving the snow and sandpits of the majestic Chimborazo behind us, entering the Ambato River Valley which will carry us throughout its small communities towards the city of Ambato, the capital of the Tungurahua Province.

San Marcos Lake is located within the Cayambe-Coca Ecological Reserve on the northeast side of Cayambe Volcano. We will travel from Quito to the edge of the lake, where we will begin the route from the scenic overlook. Biking with an impressive view of the Cayambe Volcano along the way ww will ride through small towns, we will appreciate the andean culture, we will arrive to the city of Cayambe.

This route will take us along the declining western ridges of Pichincha Province, from the town of Los Bancos to the Hermoso Valley. During this trip, we will pass through various surrounding neighborhoods that are ornamented with exuberant vegetation of the rainforest. This route is named after a very colorful bird that is native to this region and easy to see along the journey.

This is without a doubt one of the most diverse, high-adrenaline and closest routes to Quito; perfect for those bikers who love speed. We will drive to the north side of Pichincha Volcano from where we will start a long and exciting descent along cultivated Andean lands and continue deeper into the Tandayapa Cloud Forest. Finally, after 40 km / 24,85 mi of continuous descent, we will arrive to the small and colorful town of Tandayapa.

The route begins in the Virgen of the Illinizas at 3,900 m / 12.795 ft with an incredible 10 km / 6,21 mi descent to the small town of El Chaupi. From this point, the route runs past haciendas, small forests and the moor at the base of the Illinizas until the beginning of an exciting section of downhill which passes small indigenous communities and ends in the Pastocalle sector.

We will travel to the Mojanda Lake scenic overlook. At this point, we will get on the bikes and start with a short climb which passes along the edges of the Mojanda Lakes. After this, we will ascend for a while across the Andean moor to where we will begin a downhill stretch towards the Cochasquí, where we will be able to visit this important archeological monument. At last, we will start the final descent to the ending point at the Cochasquí tollbooth.

This route will allow you to travel from the Highland to the Coast, towards the regions of the Tsáchilas by means of the old road which is full of exciting and never-ending descents through diverse landscapes of forests, rivers, and cascades. The route starts at 3,500 m /11.482 ft of altitude in the western mountain range of the Andes ending in the Coastal region of Ecuador.

This is a fabulous route that crosses a large part of the moor within the Cayambe-Coca Reserve, showing us one of the most well-conserved and closest moors to Quito. During the trip, we will be able to admire small patches of Andean forest and a lake, where if we are lucky, we will see a bear or deer cross nearby to our path.

This is a route that displays the most beautiful landscapes of the neighboring northwestern region of Quito. We will start pedaling from a small town located at 3,300 m / 10826 ft until we arrive to the Yanacocha Reserve entrance at 3,400 m / 11154 ft. This point is the beginning of a descent over 10 km / 6,21 mi which continues to a short 5 km /3,1 mi ascent to Nono. Then, we will bike along small valleys and mountains to within a few kilometers of Calacalí.

An amazing route that starts at 3,000 m /9.842 ft from a road on the edge of the huge Pululahua crater that will take you to the inside, passing along the Pondoña and Chivo volcanic remains to a final elevation of 2,100 m. Here, you will begin to climb through a dense forest until leaving the crater through the Yunguilla sector.

On this loop, we will descend from Cayambe Volcano’s glaciers, which lie in the Pichincha Province, to an indigenous community in the Imbabura Province, rich in mountains and their lagoons.

This is an excellent two-day option that shows the main attractions of the Pichincha and Imbabura provinces north of Quito. We will visit the Mojanda branch and its lakes, the Cayambe Volcano and its glaciers, and the rich culture of the indigenous town of Otavalo.

This is without a doubt, the best option for exploring in depth the northern section of the Pichincha and Imbabura provinces, where you will be able to enjoy the marvelous lakes, mountains, rich culture and above all, great adrenaline rushes! This loop will take you through some of the most incredible places in the northern Ecuadorian Sierra.
